Rimmel Road Trip

Being a Manchester based YouTuber & blogger, I’m always so ridiculously excited when an opportunity comes along to not only work with an incredible brand, but also to represent my home city, which is exactly what I was lucky enough to do earlier in April.

Incase you haven’t come across it already, the Rimmel Road Trip began January this year and had so far visited Cardiff, Belfast & Glasgow before finally making it’s way over to good ol’ Manchester! In each city, us beauty bloggers get the chance to show another blogger/friend around our hometown as well as spend time playing with makeup to create both a day time & evening look using Rimmel products (does it get more fab? I think not!)

I became even more excited when I found out I was taking on Manchester with Victoria aka inthefrow, who actually lived in Manchester for a while herself before making the move down to London. It’s easy to tell that V is a fellow Mancunian in her own way, as she’s one of the loveliest people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting!

So, on to the fun part – the makeup!

Daytime – minimal & fresh

As a lot of you probably know, when it comes to day time looks, I always love keeping things nice and simple and focusing mostly on achieving beautiful, glowy skin. Lasting Finish primer & Wake Me Up foundation are a match made in heaven for this, as the primer provides a moisturising base, whilst the new formula of WMU contains vitamin C and anti fatigue agents to give your skin a flawless but dewy, healthy appearance. To add a little definition (and of course, the glow!) my favourite thing to go in with is the Kate Moss Sculptin Kit in Coral Glow, as you literally have all of the necessary remaining base products in one beautiful rose gold palette! Finish off with some defined brows, Volume Shake mascara, a nude lip & you’re good to go (there’s a little more detail about these steps below).

Evening – all about the eyes

When creating an evening look, I usually stick to the same skin routine (as explained above) but love to put a little more time and effort into my eyes. On this particular evening, I opted for a smokey eye and bold wing liner. For shadows, I actually started with the Natural Bronze, as this makes such a beautiful crease transition shade due to the warmth & then built on top with the Magnif’eyes palette in Keep Calm & Wear Gold

to add a little definition. To create that perfect defined brow look, I used a combination of pencil & powder, and created the perfect ombre lip using Lasting Finish 1000 Kisses lip liner in Tiramisu & Kate Miss Lasting Finish lipstick in 40.
